About Me
- Mary and Dave
- We are at it again. We cycled 1200 miles down the coast of Oregon, into California, over the Golden Gate Bridge and into San Francisco. Then it was a ferry across the bay to Vallejo and a lovely side trip up the Napa Valley to Callestoga. That was the end of the bike portion of our trip.

Newport, Oregon
We are hanging out in Newport, Oregon for an extra day before biking across the bridge and continuing our way south. So far the biking has been wonderful. Good weather, great tailwinds and spectacular views. Biking the coast is challenging when it comes to the 'hills", the tunnels and bridges and the traffic. I'll post pictures when possible. Total trip total so far: 225 miles (40-50 miles per on average). More later!

Running out of time!
It is 7:25 pm and we still have loads to do before hitting the road tomorrow morning. The Amtrak leaves Fairhaven (Bellingham) at 8:25 am and we will be on that train whether we sleep tonight or not! I'm not sure how often we will be able to post to this blog, but be assured that I will try! We are looking forward to living beside the Pacific Ocean for the next few weeks!

Finally I keep my word
In December I promised to finish this blog and add my remaining pictures. Sorry to say it has taken me until June to keep my promise. I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as we enjoyed taking them. Of course, the pictures don't even scratch the surface of the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. You must see it for yourself!
Car Travels ~ October 2008
It was too late in the season to do much more bike touring, so we rented a car and headed south.
